How long does it take to install HRC Software applications in a company?
Regardless of the size of your business and your goals, all HRC Software applications (Spare Parts, Warehouse, Maintenance, and Procurement) can be installed in less than 48 hours.
Wondering how this is possible? First, our four solutions are fully based on the SAP standard and are compatible with the various ECC6 and S/4 versions.
In addition, HRC Software solutions use a dedicated namespace and rely on standard transfer order mechanisms to install the HRC Software add-on in your production environment.
Finally, the HRC team draws on nearly a decade of experience deploying digital solutions in the specific business environments of its many clients. We have, in fact, deployed our solutions for numerous clients, always via the SAP environment.
In fact, our fastest deployment took just 2 hours and 36 minutes! Can you beat the record?

What technology is used for the user interface of HRC Software solutions?
On the user side, HRC Software relies on two technologies.
First: SAPUI5. This is a client-side framework offered by SAP. Why does HRC Software use SAPUI5? Quite simply, to ensure seamless integration between standard SAP applications, custom applications developed by our clients, and, finally, standard HRC Software applications. Our goal is to provide the best possible user experience by ensuring true compatibility across all devices.
HRC Software also relies on the Neptune Software Low-Code/No-Code platform—which itself uses the SAPUI5 framework—to deliver user-friendly, high-performance mobile applications that take full advantage of the unique features of mobile devices (camera, barcode scanner, NFC, etc.).

How many versions of HRC Software are released each year?
To provide you with new applications and features on a regular basis, our team releases three major updates each year for our HRC Software applications.
However, we do not require you to install the latest version of our HRC Software solution immediately, as we prioritize the stability of your business processes. Our team is here to listen to your needs and support you through the update process based on your specific requirements and constraints.
Did you know?
We drew inspiration from Mendeleev’s table—also known as the periodic table of elements—when naming our releases. So, if you hear that “the Titanium release is available,” don’t be surprised!

How are user permissions managed?
All HRC Software solutions are based on SAP. Consequently, whether or not permissions are granted to users depends directly on SAP roles. So, how are these roles utilized by HRC Software solutions?
HRC relies entirely on SAP users and permissions, which means we do not duplicate them.
Good to know: It’s important for each user to have a well-defined role to distinguish the permissions they have access to.
The first aspect involves managing authentication. Users can log in and authenticate using a username and password to access a specific SAP system.
Next, the second aspect relates to the concept of authorization. Assigning this role to a user grants them access to a specific application tile, or to one or more features, but does not grant them access to all existing application tiles.
Finally, the third aspect allows for the definition of a sector-based organization using a scope. This scope can be geographic, but it can also be hierarchical, for example. If authorizations are restricted based on geographic location, it is possible, for example, to specify that a warehouse worker based in Roubaix cannot report the receipt of goods at an industrial site located in Marseille.

Do HRC apps allow you to add attachments?
Are you using HRC Warehouse and need to provide photographic evidence as part of a legal dispute? Or perhaps you manage your industrial facilities with HRC Maintenance and need to quickly share official or confidential documents (such as a site plan, operational or strategic procedures, technical specifications for a specific piece of equipment, etc.)
All HRC Software solutions (Spare Parts, Warehouse, Maintenance, and Procurement) include the ability to add attachments, including photos. This allows you to compile tangible evidence without having to send emails.
Better yet: in HRC tools, the “attachments” feature works across all applications. This means your attachments can be sent via Spare Parts, Warehouse, Maintenance, or Procurement—no matter which one you use, they’ll be available!
Format issues? Not a problem for us. We support all document types (PDF, JPEG, PNG, etc.), whether they’re taken with a camera or stored on your device, so they can be saved in SAP. So much for compatibility. Now, how about flexibility?
Flexibility also means being able to annotate all your photos quickly and easily. Just like on social media, you can circle or underline elements in your photos to highlight key details.

Are HRC Software solutions available in different languages?
Yes, the entire HRC Software suite is available in various languages. In fact, the software draws on the languages installed on your SAP system. The software vendor provides users with most of the languages spoken around the world. (Note that it is also possible to display the user interface in a language not installed on SAP.)
By choosing HRC Software applications, each user can select the language used in the user interface. This makes it easier for your employees to use the applications effectively!
Good to know: You can use all the languages listed in SAP, but you can also ask us to add languages not currently available in SAP.

What are the technical requirements for using HRC Software applications?
To use any of HRC Software’s solutions, no additional servers are required. In fact, we’ve chosen to fully integrate our solutions into the SAP system landscape to avoid any additional infrastructure costs.
The only prerequisite for installing our solutions? Your SAP ECC6 or SAP S/4HANA system, accessible via HTTP(s) from your mobile devices—and that’s it!
In short, there are few technical requirements, but for one very good reason: we offer you a simple solution that can be quickly integrated so you can focus on your business expertise and grow your company with complete peace of mind.

What is the process for a project with HRC Software?
Project deployment with HRC Software is based on two objectives: speed and stability. Whatever your specific needs may be, we tailor our expertise to your unique business challenges. The project process always includes the following steps.
First, we discuss your industry-specific challenges, organizational issues, and goals, and then we present our portfolio of SAP-enhanced solutions. This initial discussion can take place remotely.
Next, we schedule a site visit to meet with your end users, familiarize ourselves with your environment, and fully assess the context for deploying our solution. This visit is also an ideal opportunity to provide recommendations regarding the hardware best suited to your new organizational structure.
Good to know: We bring our own mobile devices to provide you with a live demo of our solutions in your own environment.
We can install our solutions on your SAP system as early as the third meeting to demonstrate our applications in your environment, using your data.
Next, if the demonstration is successful, we’ll organize the deployment of the solutions to your users. Your new ecosystem is now an integral part of your day-to-day operations.
Finally, we provide rapid training to your key users so they can fully leverage the potential of the available solutions.
Good to know: Depending on your needs, you can also contact HRC Consulting, which will help you implement your project effectively.

Is the HRC Software solution compatible with Android?
Yes, HRC Software is compatible with Android (version 8 or higher). This is all the more important given that 95% of industrial mobile devices today run on Android.
In fact, over the past few years, Microsoft’s embedded solutions have failed to keep pace with the industrial sector’s digital transformation. For professional use, Android has established itself as the leader, despite its generally “consumer-oriented” focus.
HRC Software is also compatible with Apple and Windows.

What is HRC Software's business model?
HRC Software offers an annual subscription per user for a specific functional scope (Warehouse, Spare Parts, Maintenance, or Procurement).
Good to know: the larger the number of users and the more functional areas you include, the lower the per-user cost of the subscriptions will be.
Please feel free to contact us so we can recommend the plan best suited to your projects.

Is the HRC Software solution compatible with SAP S/4HANA?
Yes, the HRC Software suite of solutions is compatible with major versions of SAP: SAP S/4HANA (starting with version 1909) or SAP ECC6.
Having either of these versions is more than enough to take advantage of the various Business Packages provided by HRC Software—Spare Parts, Warehouse, Maintenance, or Procurement—which are central to your business operations.

Are the apps available offline?
The architecture of HRC Software applications enables offline functionality (ranging from cache management to overcome brief outages to offline use for several hours). However, it is essential to carefully assess the suitability of the offline approach based on the business context.
In fact, we do not view the “offline-first” approach as a one-size-fits-all solution. While using a dedicated maintenance management application offline in an unserved area may be a no-brainer, using it in a warehouse to ensure product traceability is not necessarily so. In any case, it is important not to underestimate the business impact on both the organization and its processes.

Furthermore, the very act of designing an app that’s accessible offline imposes limitations on the features available to users and complicates data reconciliation rules—even though such reconciliation may occur in online mode about 90% of the time.
Finally, offline functionality requires users to download a larger amount of data, which can be viewed in the event of a network outage. However, these frequent downloads can affect data synchronization times.
Good to know: Due to their stateless architecture, HRC Software applications are relatively unaffected by minor network outages.

Is the HRC Software solution built on the RF framework?
No. HRC Software chose to move away from SAP’s RF framework. The RF framework, short for “Radio Frequency,” is a system deployed in the early 2000s that allows users to monitor warehouse operations using mobile devices (of that era) running on Windows CE.
It’s clear that the RF framework no longer meets today’s performance requirements and does not allow you to take full advantage of a true industrial mobility experience. In addition to being unergonomic, SAP RF is not optimized to fully leverage the capabilities of the mobile devices that industrial site managers currently use.
HRC Software applications offer a genuine alternative to SAP’s RF transactions.

Is it possible to read an NFC tag using HRC Software apps?
Yes, provided that the device on which the app is installed is equipped with NFC (Near Field Communication) technology. NFC is a technology that enables wireless data exchange between a reader and a mobile device, or between two mobile devices. This is the same technology used for contactless payments with your credit card.
The primary advantage of reading NFC tags? High reliability for reading operations, with zero risk of error.
Since this feature is widely used in the maintenance sector, HRC Software offers it in its HRC Maintenance module to identify various pieces of equipment in a workshop and track the progress of maintenance operations.
In warehouse management, NFC tag reading is not widely used, but the feature can technically be integrated into other HRC solutions.

How do HRC Software solutions ensure data protection?
HRC Software solutions are installed directly on the customer’s SAP system and therefore benefit from all existing security mechanisms (network security, encryption, two-factor authentication, backups, etc.).
Under no circumstances is data exported outside the customer’s infrastructure.

Is it possible to modify HRC Software applications?
No, it is not possible to modify HRC Software’s standard solutions per se. However, our applications can be customized or “extended” since they allow for the addition of front-end or back-end code.
More specifically, our solutions are ready to use. This means that, as is, they offer a smooth, user-friendly interface that’s easy to use. Compatible with the SAP environment, you can start using them right away… or almost right away! A few hours of support and guidance will be all you need to get up to speed.
Want to take it a step further? Need to provide your teams with 100% enterprise-grade solutions? HRC Software solutions can also be used in a “ready-to-build” approach. The application architecture is designed to provide flexibility in building applications and offers numerous possibilities to fully meet our clients’ needs. In short: the core of our solutions remains the same, but it’s possible to build a customized solution that reflects your brand.

Is it possible to grant different levels of access to different users?
Yes, it is of course possible to finely control access to various applications using SAP roles. Each application can be associated with one or more SAP roles and then assigned to different user profiles.
A warehouse clerk will then have access to the applications needed to perform warehouse management tasks (receiving goods, inventory, putaway, issuing goods, etc.), and a maintenance technician will have access to the applications relevant to their tasks (inspection rounds, creating notifications, executing a work order, etc.).

Can barcodes be scanned using HRC Software applications?
Yes, all HRC Software solutions have been designed to efficiently leverage data collection through barcode scanning.
In fact, barcode scanning is a key feature in a number of mobile processes, particularly in warehouse management processes.
HRC Software applications allow you to harness the full power of the terminals’ built-in barcode scanners (such as Zebra terminals) and scan any type of barcode (1D or 2D).
Want to scan barcodes with a terminal that doesn’t have a built-in barcode scanner? No problem! HRC Software applications also allow you to scan barcodes using the camera built into the terminal.
While this alternative is certainly less efficient than a physical barcode scanner, it can still be used for occasional tasks.

Are there any infrastructure costs associated with implementing HRC Software solutions?
No, installing all or any of our HRC Software solutions does not incur any infrastructure costs. Why? Because our architecture is based exclusively on SAP and therefore requires no additional servers.
In short, our solution’s architecture is simple: no interfaces, no additional servers, and no cloud services. HRC Software is a real asset for your industrial mobility: our application suite simply integrates into your existing system landscape.

Can HRC Software solutions be customized?
Yes, first of all, from a visual identity perspective, it is entirely possible to integrate elements of your brand or corporate identity into HRC Software solutions. By creating a theme (based on CSS style sheets), you can apply your own theme to each application to provide your teams with a tool that has a unique look and feel.
Over time, most SAP customers have enhanced their SAP solutions with custom developments to best meet their needs. HRC Software solutions are primarily based on the SAP standard, but the application architecture also allows for the integration of a number of customer-specific features without affecting the HRC Software standard.
It is possible to integrate specific business rules (by extending or overriding backend objects, without affecting the user experience) or to improve the usability of the applications by developing new user interfaces specifically for this purpose. All of this is done while continuing to take full advantage of the standard backend functionality.
From simply adding a business rule to an existing standard application to the complete creation of a custom application, the customization of HRC Software solutions knows no bounds.
